No branding on voicemail messages
We've decided not to brand Pibbix Voicemail's announcements and messages when we complete the current invitation-only trial and launch. Options we'd considered included:
- An audio 'ident' like the famous 'Intel chimes' when a call was answered.
- A voice announcement following a customer's greeting.
- Using the Pibbix name in the default greeting.
These have all been rejected - we'll be sticking with the current approach: nothing. Good voicemail is quick and simple to use - branding gets in the way of that experience. We'll also never promote ourselves to your callers - it's not the right thing to do.
We know good services aren't just about the technology, so we're determined to stay focused on what is right for our customers... even in the smallest details.

Something like "This message will be transcribed and sent as text" so that ultra-paranoid people have the option to "opt-out" of having their message heard. Or do you think that's up to the recipient to manage in her outgoing message?

Ultimately the only way for 'paranoid' callers to control the privacy of a message is not to leave one at all - not just for Pibbix Voicemail but for all voicemail systems. Even if a warning *is* issued about transcription, a caller can't know who the recipient has delegated access of their messages to, how the recipient will handle the message or the privacy policy of the service provider without a substantial (and onerous) amount of effort in advance.
For enterprise customers who don't want transcription for cost or privacy reasons we're also making that option available.
As ever, we're listening and would welcome feedback on our approach.
